The construction of Hangzhou Grand Exhibition Center and the creation of a new highland for national exhibition business is a major decision made by the Municipal Party Committee and Government to implement the national Yangtze River Delta integration and Zhejiang Province's "two first" development strategy, enhance the comprehensive level and core competitiveness of the city, and a key measure to "forge ahead in a new era and build a new paradise" and create a world-class socialist modern international metropolis.
The Hangzhou Convention and Exhibition Center is located in the Nanyang Street block of the Hangzhou Airport Economic Demonstration Zone, located in the downstream of the Qiantang River and the hinterland of the Hangzhou Bay Bridge, northwest of Xiaoshan Airport. It is only 3 kilometers away from the airport and 20 kilometers away from the main urban area of Hangzhou. It has rich natural and cultural resources and convenient location transportation advantages. On December 30, 2020, the first phase of the Grand Exhibition Center project officially began construction. The Convention and Exhibition Business District, centered around the Grand Convention and Exhibition Center, is located in the northwest direction of the Airport Economic Demonstration Zone. It is one of the pioneering areas for the demonstration zone, committed to becoming an important engine for high-quality development of the airport and a full chain business highland mainly focused on the exhibition economy.
